Fathers and sons, as well as the young men of our community are invited to join the St. John Bosco Brigade on the 29th Annual Pilgrimage for Restoration from September 27th-29th.
Following in the footsteps of St. Isaac Jogues and his companions, the pilgrims will walk 62 miles over in three days from Lake George Village, NY to the Shrine of the North American Martyrs in Auriesville, NY.
Joining many other brigades and as many as 2,000 other pilgrims, we will spend three days walking, praying and singing. With the daily Traditional Latin Mass, confessions and spiritual direction on the trail the pilgrimage is both physically challenging and spiritually enriching.
The St. John Bosco Brigade will be for men 18 years old and older, as well as for boys 13 years old and older with an adult guardian.
If you know any women who would like to attend I encourage them to reach out to mail@pilgrimage-for-restoration.org to see if there is space on other brigades for them. St. John Bosco Camps will have a men only brigade.
Want to come? Simply email Fr. Dalimata, the brigade chaplain and organizer at secretary@stjohnboscocamps.org
Fr. Dalimata will then contact you to review your request and then help you to register for the St. John Bosco Brigade to participate in the pilgrimage.
The cost of participation will include a registration fee to be paid to the Pilgrimage for Restoration, as well as a brigade fee to St. John Bosco Camps.
Brigade registration fee of $25.00 per person to be paid to St. John Bosco Camps. This will cover the cost of travel for the Chaplain and any other clergy who participate in this brigade.
$145.00 per pilgrim to pilgrimage for restoration if paid before August 31st. ($35.00 discounts per person for groups of three or more)
Total cost paid to all parties: $170
This will cover the following expenses:
Personal clothing and necessaries for a three day walk including sleeping bag and tent, walking boots, water bottles, etc. (NB: All gear not needed on the walk is transported in vans between the campsites.)
Food: each pilgrim is responsible for their own personal food supply, though this is supplemented at breakfast and dinner with bread, jam, fruit, soup and bottled water by pilgrimage volunteers.
Travel: Each pilgrim is responsible for getting to and from the pilgrimage. The Pilgrimage for Restoration does have a parking shuttle service that can be coordinated in order to drop off a car on Thursday at the shrine (final destination) and be brought back to the step off location. This does not include shuttle to/from the airport.
Contact Fr. Dalimata regarding attendance via secretary@stjohnboscocamps.org if you'd like to attend.
